CSM Phillip Peguese

Command Sergeant Major Phillip K. Peguese is a native of

Virginia Beach, Virginia. He graduated from Bayside High

School in the June of 1987. He enlisted in the Army

reserves in March 1988 as a 51R, Interior Electrician. He

enlisted in the active Army in 25 April of 1990 as a 15G,

Aircraft Structural Repairer.

CSM Peguese’s assignments include  one tour

with F Company 5th Aviation Regiment, Fort Polk La.

One tour in Korea with A Company, 2/501”Black Cats’

as a 15G Squad Leader. One tour at Fort Campbell

Kentucky, with H Company159th Aviation Regiment,

8th Battalion 101st   as an Allied Shops Squad Leader.  

In 1996, Command Sergeant Major Peguese

began his career with the 160th Special Operations

Aviation Regiment (Airborne) FTCKY. He served the

Regiment in the following Positions: Aircraft Structural Repairer and Section NCOIC D Company, 2/160th, Allied Shops Platoon Sergeant, D Company 2/160th SOAR (A); Avionics, Armament and Electrical Platoon Sergeant, D Company, 2/160th SOAR (A); Production Control NCOIC, E Company 160th SOAR (A), Deagu, Korea; Production Control NCOIC, 2nd Battalion SOAR (A), FTCKY; Command Sergeant Major Peguese served as First Sergeant for, D Company, 2/160th;  HHC, 2/160th and HHC, 1/160th, FTCKY. After graduating from the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, he served as the Support Operations Sergeant Major for 563rd ASB, 159th CAB, FTCKY the Squadron Command Sergeant Major for 2/17th Cavalry Regiment, 101st CAB and the Brigade CSM (Rear) for the 101st CAB, FTCKY. His last assignment was as the Battalion Command Sergeant Major for 3/160th SOAR (A), HAAF Ga. He has deployed on numerous CONUS, OCONUS training exercises prior to Operations Enduring and Iraqi Freedom. He has supported and deployed to Operation Enduring Freedom on several occasions


Command Sergeant Major Peguese is a graduate of Warriors Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course, U.S. Army First Sergeant Course, Strategic Deployment / Unit Movement Planner Course, Equal Opportunity Leaders Course, Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape (SERE), Airborne School, Air Assault School. He is a graduate of class 62 of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy. He is a graduate of Excelsior College Associate’s Degree in Applied Science, Administrative/Management Studies.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star (w/1 OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (w/4 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (w/3 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (w/3 OLC), Good Conduct Medal (9th  Award), National Defense Service Medal(w/1 BSS), Korean Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal( w/2 CS ), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Award (Numeral 5), Army service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Master Aviation Badge, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge ,Chilean Parachute Badge, Jordanian Parachute Badge and The Honorable Order of Saint Michael.
